{I heart Nectar Desserts}

I like dessert…. A LOT.  In fact, I think it may be a full blown addiction. If you were to ask me what my favorite dessert spot in the city was, I’d have to say its Nectar Desserts. I am there getting my sweet fix at LEAST once a week, sometimes up to 3 times (I know, I have a problem. Plus it doesn’t help that I only live blocks away from the place)

Being a self-professed dessert connoisseur, this place is by far my favorite spot to satisfy my sweet tooth. The attention to detail and quality that goes into each dessert is unmatched. The cafe is on the second floor in a bright and open eclectic loft space with lots of whimsical character. From the unmatched plate and tea cups to the retro chairs and sofas, Rebekah (the owner – who has a rad sense of style) and her team are always there to greet you with a smile.

Their desserts include cakes, personal tarts, french macarons, scones, cookies, housemade ice cream/sorbets and beautifully designed dine-in only seasonal delights. Every Sunday from 12 – 5pm they feature their tea party that includes an assortment of their petite desserts, warm, buttery and oh-so-delicate cream scones, savoury tart and your choice of tea. New on Wednesday nights is their chocolate fondue featuring your choice of a chocolate-y ganache ( I recommend the ‘dirty sexy’ – a milk chocolate) with an array of fruits and cake pieces for dipping. I got to try it on Valentine’s evening, believe me, your date will be swooning.

Here are a few of my favorites from Nectar to fit your particular craving:

  • chocolate: triple chocolate malted cake
  • exotic & fruity: passionfruit mango tart
  • comforting: housemade s’mores with homemade marshmallows and graham crackers + valrhona chocolate
  • decadant & creamy: roasted banana brulee w/ caramel
  • something different: blue cheese ice cream with fruitcake

Next time you’re in Inglewood, be sure to check out this place.

(Note: its a pretty hot spot after dinner on weekends, but it’s well worth the wait!)
